For the safety of our students and tutors every online tutoring session is recorded.

We will not tolerate bullying, bad language, abuse, inappropriate questions or images. Anyone found to be threatening the safety of our students or tutors will have their profile deleted, and they will be reported to the authorities.

You can either contact tutors directly or leave a request on the message board and wait for a tutor to get back to you. Once you have made contact with your tutor you can ask for a free meet-the-tutor session at a pre-arranged time.

At a free meet-the-tutor taster, you can discuss your needs with the tutor before committing to tutoring sessions.

There are a number of advantages to online tuition:

1. You don’t have to travel to the tutor’s home or place where they may be holding tuition classes. Therefore optimising time for focused learning and teaching.
2. Every tutoring session is recorded for you to review and use as a revision aid.
3. Our state-of-the-art online classroom allows a student and tutor to directly talk to each other, upload documents, worksheets and annotate directly on to them – an invaluable tool, when it comes to practising past exam papers.
4. As a parent you may not have the time to commit to travel arrangements, but still be happy in the knowledge that your child/children are benefitting from the extra help that they need.
5. Because the tutor is also saving valuable time and travelling costs, he/she will be able to offer you better tuition rates.
6. You may not be able to find a local tutor who matches your needs. Through Tutor Class you will have access to tutors all over the UK.
7. There is no long-term commitment. You only pay for the sessions you take.
8. You are able to continue your tuition lessons if you are away from home for any period of time.

For safety and online payment security a student must have someone over the age of 18 who is their sponsor. This can be a parent, guardian or carer whose account will be linked to the student’s account.

A meet-the-tutor session is a free 15-minute session that gives you the opportunity to consult with a tutor and discuss your needs before committing yourself to any lessons. This taster session also familiarises you with the online classroom.

Online tutoring sessions are provided on a pay-as-you-go basis.

We recommend using a headset or headphones so that you don’t encounter problems with keyboard noise and echo, both of which can be distracting during a lesson.

All our tutors are asked to use a graphics tablet.

Students can use the text tool or their mouse to write on the whiteboard however for ease of use we recommend using a graphics tablet.

The Huion H420 graphics tablet is available on Amazon or ebay for approximately £20.

Stripe is a payment gateway that Tutor Class uses to accept online payments and to pay the tutors.

Stripe meets and exceeds the most stringent industry standards for security. It is also audited by a PCI-certified auditor, and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1 - the highest level of certification available.
