Tutor: “How do the Plans work?”
- Each Plan gives you a number of new classrooms you can create - If you purchase the Basic Plan you can create 25 classroom sessions of 1 hour duration each.
- Every Plan is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.
- There are no monthly fees to pay.
- Once you have used your allocated sessions, you are able to purchase the same or alternative Plan, as per your requirements.
- All payments are made securely via Stripe. Tutor Class does not handle or save any card details.
Tutor: “I already have students and want to teach them online using the Tutor Class whiteboard. Will the students have to pay Tutor Class?”
- Your students will not have to pay Tutor Class.
- They don’t even have to register on the Tutor Class website.
- When a tutor creates a classroom, they will receive an email confirming the date and time of the session, and it will include a link and password to gain access. The tutor can then forward this email to their student/students or parents.
- Tutors are solely responsible for collecting fees from their own students.
Tutor: “What about students who contact and book a tutorial with me via Tutor Class?”
- When a student books a tutorial with a tutor via the Tutor Class website, the tutor will pay a commission on the fees they charge.
- The commission is a fixed amount of £5.00, irrespective of how much the tutor charges.
- Once a tutor has accepted a tutorial request from a student or parent, Tutor Class will ask the parent to pay for the session. The commission will be deducted and the balance minus transaction fees charged by Stripe or PayPal will be forwarded to the tutor.
- A tutor who has purchased a Plan will not lose any of his/her allocated sessions in this scenario.
- We recommend that tutors register with Stripe to accept payments. However, if they do not wish to, payments can also be made via PayPal.
Are there any limits on the audio and video?
- No
- You will have full access to audio and video during all purchased sessions.
Are the whiteboard classrooms private and secure?
- Tutor Class takes the safety of students and tutors very seriously.
- Every classroom that is created is issued a new 32-character password. This is only available to the tutor and the student they invite.
- Anyone found to be using inappropriate language or images will be permanently deleted and banned from Tutor Class, and they will be reported to the authorities.
Why are the classroom sessions recorded and what does Tutor Class do with the recordings?
- Tutor Class saves the recordings for 14 days, after which they are permanently deleted.
- Tutors and students can request a copy of recordings, which can be downloaded and used for revision purposes.
- Tutors who have their own students are responsible for getting permission from the student or their parents to request a recording of a session.
- Students who are registered with Tutor Class will have access to their recorded sessions for 14 days. If students would like to retain a copy beyond this period, they will have to download and save it on their own computers.
