I am an ex primary headteacher and have over 30 years primary teaching experience. I have taught all ages within the primary age range. I was graded as an outstanding teacher and went on to teach others on the outstanding teacher course. i also mentored student teacher at Sheffield Hallam University - setting targets for their improvement and helping them with classroom practice.

I'm passionate about teaching and believe that learning should be fun and enjoyable. I pride myself in creating interesting and enjoyable sessions. Ive been a private tutor for several years and have found it very rewarding. Its great to see children perform well with SATS and make good progress with their classroom learning.

My philosophy is simple - make learning challenging but enjoyable and provide a step by step approach totally personalised for the student that addresses their very specific needs. This programme should also be delivered in an environment that is both stimulating and nurturing . Building self esteem is crucial to the process.

I have tutored children with varying diverse needs both from KS1 and KS2.  i can provide local face to face sessions but also online learning .

In later years I have gained a TEFL qualification and trained to be a professional actor at drama school . I think my actor training compliments my teaching . I find teaching really creative and i enjoy thinking of exciting and interesting ways to present challenging concepts .

I have a degree and a teachers certificate - I am also TEFL qualified
