Professional tutor of 7 years, with expert knowledge in OCR, AQA & Edexcel Chemistry at GCSE and A-Level
My tutees have successfully gained access to medical schools and universities including Oxford, Cambridge, University College London, Imperial College London and Warwick.
Currently I am a graduate-entry medical student at Imperial College London.
In 2018 I was awarded a first class degree (BSc Hons) from the University of St Andrews, in Chemistry (with Medicinal Chemistry) - specialising in natural product total synthesis and biosynthesis.
Approach to Tutoring:
Since early 2018 I have directed my focus toward online tuition. Capitalising on the global shift toward remote-learning has allowed me to develop an interactive and engaging teaching style. In a 1-to-1 setting and using an online whiteboard I convey ideas and questions effectively.
With my students I efficiently cover the curricula of GCSE, A-Level, Higher and University examinations. I am able to adapt my teaching methods to the VARK learning style of the tutee. For those who wish to solely satisfy entry requirements I am able to teach the essentials of your curriculum and relevant exam technique.
Teaching Experience:
I am a highly skilled tutor of both GCSE and A-Level Biology and Chemistry, and degree level Chemistry. At St Andrews I was awarded a place on the Dean's List for two years owing to academic excellence in Chemistry. My particular strengths lie in organic synthesis, biosynthesis and inorganic/organometallic theory.
Through the military (Officer Training Corps) I've attained teaching qualifications. Alongside my medicine degree I am candidate for the Higher Education Academy (HEA) Associate Fellowship.
