Qualifications

I'm a 3rd year BSc Biology student (predicted 1st with honours) specialising in ecology. I aim to continue my education with a master's degree and PhD, eventually pursuing a career in university research and lecturing.

Hobbies

I have been volunteering at a bird of prey centre for 4 years and enjoy spending time working (aka playing) with the animals. At university, I am co-president of the biology society, where I organise and lead fun/educational events for my fellow students. In my free time, I enjoy nature walks and being an honorary bookworm.

Teaching Experience

Whilst I am relatively new to online tutoring, I have experience in providing 'next-steps' presentations to secondary schools, leading statistics tutorials at university, and hosting animal shows and experiences at a bird of prey center. All of these experiences have involved teaching groups of various sizes (between 1 and 100 people).

Teaching Style

In our first session, we will start broad, so we can get to know each other and make a list of topics to target in future sessions. After this, we will focus on 1-2 (ish) topics per session (depending on their length). I like to use a Q&A style when teaching, helping you to explore concepts and think outside the box. This often involves using a combination of exam, textbook and improvised questions. However, I am very flexible and will happily try new styles, tailoring our sessions to your learning style. We will also focus on exam techniques because practice makes perfect!
