Outstanding international English for children age 6-14. With a B.Ed (Hons) and QTS from the prestigious University of Cambridge, and as a former Head of English and Head of Key Stage 2, I bring 20 years of experience to my tuition practice. I am experienced at exam preparation and offer tuition for entrance exams, MAP testing. British National Curriculum, IB PYP.
After earning my B.Ed (Hons) in Education and Music from the University of Cambridge in 2003, I began my teaching career at a primary school in Ely, Cambridgeshire.
From 2005 to 2013, I taught at a large primary school in Cambridge, spending six years with Year 6 students before moving on to teach Years 3 and 4. During this period, I held positions as Head of Key Stage and Head of English, and was a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team. My teaching consistently received an 'outstanding' rating under the OFSTED framework.
In 2013, I relocated to New Zealand, where I continued my successful teaching career at a prestigious independent school, a large primary school, and a junior high school.
After the birth of my daughter in 2017, we returned to the UK, where I resumed my career in a pastoral role at a school in Wiltshire. I am now director of and tutor at Home Star Tuition.
Having lived in New Zealand for many years, I have a proven track record of working with international students. My student-centered approach focuses on building confidence, enhancing skills, and achieving academic goals.
My teaching is online from my home near Bath in the UK.
'Learning is not a spectator sport'. This philosophy underpins my teaching style: lessons are packed with learning, my expectations are high, my students achieve and develop in confidence.
