Teaching Experience

After earning my B.Ed (Hons) in Education and Music from the University of Cambridge in 2003, I began my teaching career at a primary school in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

From 2005 to 2013, I taught at a large primary school in Cambridge, spending six years with Year 6 students before moving on to teach Years 3 and 4. During this period, I held positions as Head of Key Stage and Head of English, and was a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team. My teaching consistently received an 'outstanding' rating under the OFSTED framework.

In 2013, I relocated to New Zealand, where I continued my successful teaching career at a prestigious independent school, a large primary school, and a junior high school.

After the birth of my daughter in 2017, we returned to the UK, where I resumed my career in a pastoral role at a school in Wiltshire. I am now director of and tutor at Home Star Tuition.

Tutoring Approach

Having lived in New Zealand for many years, I have a proven track record of working with international students. My student-centered approach focuses on building confidence, enhancing skills, and achieving academic goals.

My teaching is online from my home near Bath in the UK.

'Learning is not a spectator sport'. This philosophy underpins my teaching style: lessons are packed with learning, my expectations are high, my students achieve and develop in confidence.
