I am an enthusiastic fully qualified teacher with a passion for languages and a PGCE from the University of Oxford.
I have been tutoring English, German, French and Italian for the past 20 years. I also work as a Police Approved Interpreter and Translator.
I am very familiar with both the AQA and the EDEXCEL board requirements (GCSE Foundation and Higher - A-Level Higher) having taught in schools using these boards.
With my flexible schedule that revolves around your busy life, I ensure that no matter how packed your calendar, you can always fit in your language lessons. I have an holistic approach to teaching, which means I consider every aspect of the learning experience, crafting tailor-made lessons that suit my students’ unique pace, preferences, and goals. I am very aware of the fact that no two students are alike and my teaching style is as diverse as my students. I ensure that each session is customised to meet my students’ specific needs. I strive to make language learning not just a task, but an enjoyable and personalised experience.
I always start by assessing my students’ language level with a short test to understand their strengths and areas for improvement. Based on this assessment I then set achievable targets that challenge them while also ensuring steady progress. Throughout their learning journey, I regularly review my students’ targets, celebrating their successes and helping them focus on areas that need improvement. I also provide short engaging tasks to complete at home, because I strongly believe that practice truly makes perfect. These tasks are carefully designed to reinforce what my students have learned and accelerate their language proficiency.
I always provide detailed and supportive feedback, guiding my students every step of the way and I never leave them to figure things out on their own. For me it is paramount that my students not only improve their language skills, but also gain the confidence and motivation needed to reach their language learning goals.
