Hello. I'm Chris, a fully qualified primary teacher who has taught both in the UK and also internationally in Asia. I have over 25-years' experience teaching primary school children, especially those who have English as an additional language. I'm keen to help you improve your basic skills in English and maths. I love teaching, travelling, swimming and exploring new countries and cultures.

I graduated from university in Australia with a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree and a Bachelor of Education degree; a four-year degree in total, which qualifies me to teach in primary schools. When I moved to the UK to live, I competed the QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) award, which qualifies me to teach in primary schools throughout the UK.

I have extensive experience working from Year 1 to Year 6; both internationally and in the UK. Throughout my career I have held several leadership positions in mathematics, assessment, and curriculum development, so I have strong subject knowledge and am very clear of the U.K. teaching curriculum.

I have worked for top-tier international schools in Bangkok, Shanghai and Yangon that attract families who have high aspirations for their children. I also have high expectations of what children can achieve and encourage all my students to be open-minded, think big and challenge themselves. I use a friendly, supportive approach, with plenty of opportunities for discussion, practice, and use of IT to engage children and make learning fun in every lesson.

My experience includes working with many children and families who do not speak English as their first language. I pride myself on building safe, caring and supportive relationships between all students and their families.
