Natasha Fletcher

Hello, I am a London-based English tutor with 20 years’ experience in teaching, coaching and mentoring. I would love to work with you if you need extra support with English and would like to improve your confidence.

I specialise in working with children and young adults who lack confidence in their abilities and need extra support. I also support students with Autism, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia and other Special Educational Needs (SEN).

In my last role I was responsible for the delivery of Functional Skills English up to level 2, including the planning and delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment. My students achieved success rates that were consistently above the national average pass rates and I was commended by OFSTED and City and Guilds on the high quality of my teaching, assessments, and resources.

As an experienced Speaking, Listening and Communication tutor I have achieved fantastic success with some of the most nervous and anxious students who have been convinced that they will never be able to publicly speak. It is greatly rewarding for me to watch my students’ confidence grow and flourish in this way as we work together.

I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in English Literature and a PGCE in Further Education.

About my Lessons:

Using a range of methods, I tailor my lessons to meet your individual learning requirements. For example, breaking down a task into smaller, achievable steps makes it more easily understood and mentally manageable. I will set regular tasks and activities to ensure full understanding of what we are learning.

I will identify strengths and areas to improve and create learning strategies and goals that are right for your needs. I am usually able to identify these needs within the first session.

About Me:

My tutoring sessions are creative, fun and engaging, placing emphasis on your learning and progress.

I have a calm, patient and encouraging approach. Listening and reflecting are very important for developing a strong rapport with you so I am always keen to get to know what you are interested in, what motivates you and what is meaningful to you.

Being approachable and non-judgmental opens the lines of communication and creates a platform for you to ask questions and share with me how you feel you are progressing.

I have a ‘can do’ attitude and communicate positive expectations by showing you that I believe that you have the ability to do well and achieve through my unwavering encouragement and enthusiasm. I take great pride in championing my students. Positive reinforcement helps you to acknowledge your skills and strengths and enhances understanding and enjoyment in learning.

Your success is my number one priority. My aim is to provide the right support for you so that you can progress to the very best of your ability.
