I have been teaching history at secondary school level for 18 years (ages 11-19) and am an engaging, enthusuastic teacher. I love students who question me, themsleves and historical 'fact'.

I am now looking to tutor online and have experience of teaching whole classes online due to the recent pandemic, I use a range of media, source material and discussion to support students to be the best they can be.

Subject specialisms include: US history, expecially civil rights; Irish political history; the industrial revolution; the histroy of slavery; the nature of work in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the history of medicine; crime and punishment; women through time; and 20th century Britain.

While history is my main focus, I have taught literacy, geography, religious studies and physical education. Thttoughout my career I have also been involved in the pastoral side of school life as a tutor and head of year as well as hosting a range of extra curricular clubs and societies including chess, book clubs, historical movies, football teams, ultimate disc and badminton.
