Hello, and thank you for visiting my page!

My name is Thomas and I have eight years experience tutoring maths at all secondary levels.

Living in Scotland, I am extremely familiar with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and the Scottish Qualification Authority Specifications for accredited Maths Courses (National 5 Applications; National 5; Higher; Advanced Higher). 

I have experience with the English curriculum, having utilised platforms within secondary schools to deliver online maths content. 

Importantly, my subject knowledge of maths is strong and I can easily adapt to alternative Qualification Criteria. 

My strengths lie in believing that anyone can achieve success in maths with the right guidance. I adapt the delivery of content to match each individual student's pace and preferred style of learning. 

Initially, I discuss with any student what their current aims are and if they believe that there is a particular area of maths they need the most help with, followed by initial diagnostics to check for any gaps in learning. Gaps in mathematical understanding often hold students back from making sustained progress so gaps and misunderstandings are a top priority to address first. 

My ultimate aim is to improve each young person's confidence and understanding in maths, ultimately enabling each individual to perform well in summative assessments and exams.

All evenings during Monday to Friday (from 5pm onwards) and most of each day during the weekend.
